I should tell you about my job!
My job is Web Production Associate for the Appalachian Mountain Club (see http://outdoors.org). To put it simply I am the gatekeeper of web content going on and off the AMC website. There is a lot more that I will be taking on over time, but generally speaking, I will be approving web content from the various departments across the organization before it goes live. Pretty sweet, eh? I will also be doing user and member support for our outreach programs, regional chapters, board members, scientists, and volunteers. If they have a web related issues, I’m there woman.
AMC is headquartered in the Beacon Hill neighborhood in Downtown Boston. From where I live currently it’s an hour and a half commute. That will be changing in September. The area around Beacon Hill is lovely. I have an awesome roommate at work who not only hilarious and nice, but likes to wok with the fluorescent lights off! She is quiet and hard working. We will get along famously.
So far the last two days have been intense. Lots of new information. Lots of people to meet. But I can already tell this place this exactly where I was meant to work. I am so happy.
